About the project

Penguin Heist is a chaotic, local co-op twin-stick shooter in which players take on the role of two penguin bank robbers. To collect as much money as possible, they'll have to shoot anything that moves, while breaking into safes to get out bags of cash.

Creating mayhem

Allow artists to express themselves freely

In Penguin Heist, the feeling of making a mess of the casino had to be as strong as possible. So in addition to my gameplay programming work, I gave myself the task of simplifying the artists' work as much as possible, and implementing solutions to give the casino as much life as possible. As a result, the final game features destructible scenery, casino chips that fly away when the player passes close by, blood and guts that appear when enemies die, and a whole host of other VFX that needed individual integration care.
